Baidu is the leading chinese search engine. In September 2011, Baidu ranked 6th overall in the Alexa Internet rankings. During Q4 of 2010, it is estimated that there were 4.02 billion search queries in China of which Baidu had a market share of 56.6%. China's internet-search revenue share in second quarter 2011 by Baidu is 76% In December 2007, Baidu became the first Chinese company to be included in the NASDAQ-100 index.
Baidu provides an index of over 740 million web pages, 80 million images, and 10 million multimedia files. Baidu offers multimedia content including MP3 music and movies, and is the first in China to offer Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and personal digital assistant (PDA) based mobile search.
Yandex is the Russian search engine and the portal most used by Russian speakers. Yandex ranked as the 5th largest search engine worldwide with more than 3 billion searches, or 1.7% of global search as of September 2011. Yandex attracts more than 56 million users from all over the world.
Naver is a popular search portal in South Korea, with a market share of over 70% compared to 2% for Google. According to comScore, Naver is accounting for over 70% of all search queries in Korea, and making it the fifth most used search engine in the world, following Google search, Yahoo!, Baidu, and Bing. Naver launched its service in Japan in 2009, marking their first expansion out of Korea.
